Token policy
DABS Token
DABS is the native token for dabscollectibles. Marketplace platform fees are used to purchase DABS on the open market and distribute them to founders — not paid out directly in USDC or SOL.

At a glance
- Initial supply: 500,000 DABS
- Platform fee: 7.50% of each sale, deducted from the seller's payout
- Fee use: swapped to DABS and split among three founder wallets
- Additional minting: Not at launch. Only if defined demand criteria are met (see below)
- Mint authority: retained by a founder multisig for demand-based supply increases only
How platform fees work
When a sale completes and escrow releases, the seller receives their net payout (listing price minus the 7.50% platform fee). The fee portion is not sent to founders as USDC or SOL.
- The platform fee is swapped to DABS via a decentralized exchange route (e.g. Jupiter).
- Purchased DABS is split across three founder wallets (default: 33.34% / 33.33% / 33.33%).
This creates ongoing buy pressure for DABS as marketplace volume grows. It does not mint new tokens — fees buy existing supply from the liquidity pool.
Initial supply (500,000 DABS)
At launch, total minted supply is capped at 500,000 DABS. A portion is allocated to liquidity, treasury, and long-term programs. Exact allocations will be published before mainnet launch.
We do not plan to mint additional DABS at launch or on a fixed schedule. The default mode is: fees buy DABS from the market; supply stays at 500,000 unless demand criteria below are met.
What we mean by “demand”
We may mint additional DABS only when marketplace activity creates sustained demand for the token — and the existing 500,000 supply (plus liquidity) is not enough to support that demand in a healthy way.
Demand includes situations such as:
- High fee buyback volume — Platform fees are regularly purchasing large amounts of DABS from the pool, causing meaningful slippage, thin liquidity, or difficulty executing fee swaps without impacting price.
- Growing marketplace volume — Escrow release volume (and therefore fee volume) has increased materially versus launch, and more DABS is needed in circulation or in liquidity to support that growth.
- Liquidity needs — The USDC/DABS or SOL/DABS pool requires additional DABS on the supply side to maintain reasonable spreads and depth for buyers, sellers, and fee routing.
- Approved ecosystem use — A specific, pre-approved program (e.g. seller rewards, partnerships) requires DABS that cannot reasonably be sourced from treasury reserves or market buybacks alone.
Demand does not include:
- Routine monthly or quarterly mints without a documented reason
- Minting to offset price declines unrelated to marketplace growth
- Founder personal withdrawals outside the fee buyback and allocation policy
- Speculative minting ahead of unannounced features
If we mint more
Any additional mint beyond the initial 500,000 will follow these rules:
- Multisig approval — At least 2 of 3 founder wallets must sign the mint transaction.
- Stated purpose — We publish the amount, reason, and intended use (e.g. liquidity seeding, treasury reserve) before or immediately after the mint.
- On-chain transparency — Every mint is visible on Solana explorers; we maintain a public log on this site when mints occur.
- Supply ceiling — Additional mints are subject to an overall cap published at launch (updated only with founder multisig and public notice).
Mint authority
Mint authority is held by a founder multisig, not a single wallet. This allows demand-based increases while requiring collective approval.
We may revoke mint authority permanently in the future if supply and marketplace economics stabilize and a fixed cap better serves the community. That decision would be announced in advance and is irreversible once executed.
Risks & disclaimers
- DABS is a utility token tied to dabscollectibles; it is not an investment product.
- Token value can fluctuate. Past marketplace volume does not guarantee future demand.
- Fee swaps depend on available liquidity and routing; slippage may apply.
